Many students, after completing payment of HELB loans are often in dilemma in regards to how to clear from the body in order to receive clearance Certificate.
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) gives loans to individuals who pursue their degree courses in Kenyan universities. After completing repayment of your undergraduate/postgraduate loan, you are required to clear from the body. Clearance process is simple.
These are the steps to follow:
- Visit HELB offices at Anniversary Towers, Ground Floor, where you are required to check your loan balance.
- The second step is to fill a form which is readily available at the office. After filling it, present it to HELB employees, who are stationed at the floor.
- Wait for your ticket number to be mentioned and proceed to the counter you are told to visit.
- Your loan balance will be confirmed after which you are told to move to the next counter where you are provided with another form to fill. You will take this form to 13th floor, where clearance certificate is issued. You will be required to wait for some minutes so as the certificate can be processed.
If you have overpaid, you will again be required to move to ground floor to fill another form. This form is for refund.
After filling the form, you leave it at ground floor and wait for at least two months to get the refund in your bank account.
